In our latest instalment of ‘meet the team’, we’re chatting with Angela and getting to know a little more about creative side of Abingdon.
Take a look behind the scenes of being a graphic designer…
What is your role, and how long have you worked for Abingdon Flooring?
My role is the creative lead and graphic designer in the marketing department; Â I have only been here 8 months, but the time has gone very quickly. We’ve been working on lots of different projects.
What does a typical day entail?
No one day is ever the same, but I usually catch up on emails and updates, and then see which tasks at hand are priority or urgent.
Then, I typically plan which projects to work on and how to seamlessly complete them – being able to manage multiple projects is vital.
Currently, I’m working on designs for a new range, carpet sample folders, and also some social media assets. Yes, it’s always this busy!
What are your recommendations to anyone looking to start a career in Marketing?
Absorb everything around you, see what other companies are doing, keep up to date with tech and software! The world of marketing is ever changing.
If you are adaptable, curious, creative and can manage various workloads, marketing could be for you.
What’s the best aspect of your job?
I’ve really been enjoying the creative freedom I have, and that all ideas are welcomed. I love that we all collaborate, and I can contribute to the wider (marketing) team.Â
The variety of work is also a great factor, I love working on different projects from POS and exhibitions to social assets and product styling.
What’s your favourite Abingdon collection and why?
Lasting Romance –  My favourite Abingdon collection is Lasting Romance because it feels super soft and luxurious to the touch.Â
I like it so much; I’ve picked this for my own bedroom, in Mercury.Â
This range and colour bring a sense of calm, relaxation, and luxury – perfect for the bedroom. I just love that my feet just sink into the lovely, deep carpet pile – bliss!
