Why Choose A Patterned Carpet?

Geometric Patterned carpets

Plain carpets have dominated flooring choices for the past few years but now we’re seeing a resurgence in patterned carpets. In this article we’re taking a look at why you should choose a patterned carpet

For many of us who are looking to redecorate there’s a wide choice out there depending on your style and room type. From classic florals to contemporary checks, patterned carpets can be an ideal floor covering for every part of your house. In this guide we take a look at the benefits of choosing a patterned carpet for your project.

Why choose a patterned carpet?

Make A Statement

If you’re looking to make a statement in your room or add an interesting finish then this is an ideal way to do that. If you have single colour block walls then a patterned carpet can give both depth and detail to a space. You might have an overriding theme in your room and the pattern or motif in the carpet can really make that theme stand out.

Changing the Space

By choosing certain patterns you can change the way a space might feel when you’re in it. A linear repeating pattern, particularly a check or tartan, can draw the eye along the length or width of a room making it feel bigger. Alternatively, if you’re trying to make a large space feel more intimate a closer, tighter pattern can bring a touch of cosiness.

Accentuate Your Style

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a fan of old world, traditional styles or a cutting-edge contemporary design guru, there’s a patterned carpet out there for you. If you’re looking for a classic carpet that adds a sense of refinement to your room then delicate florals in pale greys, light browns and greens might work. But if you’re hunting for something that’s going to give a modern edge then bold, more immersive colours in geometrics patterns might be a good fit.

Patterned carpets have the additional benefit of being a good solution to heavy traffic areas. Patterns can often hide dirt and stains to a better degree than a plain carpet. Also, many patterns are made from either wool blend or heavy-duty manmade fibres, making them well suited to high traffic areas like hallways and stairs.
